Be A Little Wild

  I made this layout for Scrap the Girls October Challenge. The challenge ends October 31, so you still have 6 days to join in on the fun. Now for the deets on my layout! The 12 x 12 pink PP is from  Colorbok Bright Punch Out Pack. The title- Be A Little Wild- is from Craft Smith Watercolor 12 x 12 Paper Pad, I just fussy cut it out. The 3 enamel dots are from my stash. The photo mat is from Basic Grey 6 x 6 Saturday Morning Paper Pad. The Smile frame and journaling block are both from Becky Higgins Project Life Sweet Edition 4 x 4 cards.  I used Monotype Corsiva font on my computer to add the journaling- Laura and I were posing as Charlie's Angels. I never could get my fingers right to look like a gun. Lol! :) This was our first view of the Grand Canyon not long after sunrise. 9-17-17. I used Elmer's Craft Bond Permanent Runner adhesive on everything except the Smile frame and the journaling, I used ScorTape on those. I'm running out of adhesive and am going to have to buy more soon! I hope you enjoyed my layout and join the challenge. Please leave me some bloggy love- comments. :)

Now on to my waterfall card that I made for you today. I must say I struggled with this technique, but after following this tutorial and pausing as I made the card it was easy to make! I decided to stick with a fall theme since I made some Memorydex cards for a swap. One of the cards was fall themed. We were given a theme of Free Choice. Anyway, back to the details of my card. Oh, first of all, the tutorial I used is: Simple Sunday's Waterfall Card. She is very easy to follow. My card base is Recollections Strawberry Cream 8.5" x 11" paper pack that I trimmed down to A2 (4.25" x 5.5") card size. The mechanism of the waterfall that you pull with the ribbon is also from the same paper. The orange squares are from Colorbok Textured 12" x 12" Cardstock paper pad. My dimensions are off just a little, but that's what makes it unique! The top 2 stamps are from Inkadinkado Autumn Foliage Clear Stamp Set. The Enjoy stamp with the leaves falling towards it is from Stampin' Up Gently Falling. Cayla- the Stampin' Up demonstrator I linked to- actually gave me the stamp when I met her in Flagstaff, AZ in September. The pumpkin stamp I'm not sure of the manufacturer- it's not on the stamp anywhere, I bought that from a girl here in New Bern. It may be from Stampin' Up since the label on the stamp is creased a little, but that's speculation. I used Versa Fine Onyx Black pigment ink on all 4 stamps. I used Scor-tape at the top of each orange square and permanent adhesive for the rest of the card. The gold paper behind the waterfall is from Jolee's Boutique Fall 8" x 8" paper pad. The ribbon to pull the waterfall out is Celebrate It Easter Decorative Trim found at Michaels. The ephemera- leaves on each corner and the tree under the waterfall- is from an autumn pocket letter swap that an online friend made me out of DCWV Autumn Splendor stack. I really dug through my stash for this card!

I just recently attended my first Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Mesa, AZ, in September thanks to Kim- I won 2 free admission vouchers from her blog. I found out that once I got there the vouchers never expire and that once you sign up for workshops admission to the Expo is free. I learned a lot at the Expo and one thing I learned is that Lawn Fawn Stamp Shammy  is the best way to clean your stamps. You just soak it with water and wring it out a little and the ink absorbs in the shammy.  I admit it doesn't remove all ink, but it removes most of it.
